DVMS presented their play “Newsies J.R.” from November 18th to 20th. The play was directed by Miss. Tallo, a professional dancer. According to Miss. Tallo, “The process for the drama production Newsies Jr. was possible due to the amazing cast and the production team. The process begins in the spring/summer when we begin to think of shows and go through the licensing process. Our auditions are held in September, and we begin rehearsals immediately. Since the cast was full of talented, hard-working students, the rehearsals were fun, and time flew by….” This crew of talented actors and actresses is shown during the superb show. There are many dance features and beautiful songs to go along with them! However, this exquisite show did not come without preparation. Miss Tallo mentions this topic “…Having a team that can rely on one another is very important because the show will come together easily. Our assistant director, choreographer, and music director are accomplished women who bring so much to the team and help the cast shine. The final product exceeded my expectations. I could not be more proud of this incredible cast! They gave it their all. Seeing their smiling faces on the stage, and all of us forming this little family, makes it all worth it…” In total, the drama community is stunning and a great thing to support in our community.
