A Day in the Life of…

A+Day+in+the+Life+of...

Mrs. Mady, who is a secretary in the DV Middle School, has a very hectic day, and she has been interviewed to find out what a typical day is like for her:

Mrs. Mady starts her day by being the first one to the school and making sure that everyone who needs to come into the school can come in and have what they need to start their day. After she helps people in, she has to get the substitutes ready and ensure that the substitutes know where to go and have the materials needed to have a successful day. Before school starts, Mrs. Mady gets the announcements done and puts them on the bulletin to be ready for Dr. I. After that, she makes sure that the people coming in are signing in with the help of Mrs. Barcelowsky, Ms. Knight, and Mr. Feiss. After the first bell, a group of kids enters the office who need locker help, or they have to go to a class and do not know where to go. Mrs. Mady helps them with that. By 8:00 AM, the announcements are ready for Dr. I, and the bell has just rung. After that, Mrs. Mady will get all of the class folders and put the papers where they need to go, and while she is doing all of that, throughout the whole day, the phones are ringing, and there are messages that need to be sent to teachers. It is a very crazy morning. After announcements, things die down, the information gets put into the computer, and Mrs. Mady checks to ensure the data is correct. Around lunchtime, student’s items will start coming in from parents, and she makes sure they get where they need to go. After that, Mrs. Mady will make certain the meeting rooms are prepared for meetings, and everyone has space. And even after that whole day of craziness, Mrs. Mady helps all the kids get on to the correct bus so they can go home.

Mrs. Mady is very valuable to the DV Middle School, and we are fortunate to have her in our school.
