The Fun Side: XC

The Fun Side: XC

While running is the majority of what takes place on the Cross Country team,  there are a variety of fun activities and treats that make it more enjoyable.

Skulls:

Skulls are an award earned by cross country runners who pass other runners during a race after the mile marker.

Golden Skulls:

Golden Skulls are a special award earned for coming in first place in a race. Both skulls are hung and displayed on key rings chained together and attached to safety pins that can be clipped to clothing or bags.

The Leg:

The signing of the leg is a tradition practiced by any runner who passes everyone on an opposing team or who medals at an invitational meet.

Ice Pops:

At the end of each practice, the coach gives everyone Ice Pops before they leave.
