- What is your role in technology? “My role is District Technology Coordinator; I support our technology in all seven buildings as well as our administration building. While I am based out of DVMS, I can be found working in any of the district’s buildings. “
- How is working in a school different from working in an office? ”In an office, Technology works with office staff to resolve their technical issues in order to keep the company running. In a school district, Technology’s job is to make sure we are fulfilling our students’ educational requirements. On a given day, that may include resetting a student’s password, fixing a Chromebook, or repairing a teacher’s smartboard so they can continue the lesson.”
- What is your favorite part about your job? ”I enjoy interacting with students, and I like being part of the school community.”
- What do you do in your job? “My main responsibilities include supporting Schoology, Kami, and DV Cyber Academy. I work closely with our staff to address issues in classrooms, student account problems, and any special events in the district. I attend meetings with other districts and technology conferences to ensure that we stay on top of current technology trends.”
- What is it like working in technology? “Every day brings new challenges and projects to address. Technology is constantly changing, and my department works hard to keep everything running smoothly.”
- What is the most important thing about technology in a school? “Technology in a school revolves around providing for our student’s educational needs. Our department needs to make sure that our student data is safe, their equipment is working properly, and that our teachers have the tools they need to educate our students.”
