DVMS would like to welcome its newest teacher, Ms. Ripa. Ms. Ripa went to Mount Saint Mary College for her bachelor’s degree and decided to attend Marist College for graduate school. Ms. Ripa majored in math. When asked why she wanted to work at DV she said, “My wanderlust. That’s the answer that comes to mind.” Wanderlust is an urge to break away from everyday life and experience something new. Since she “had a lot of trash math teachers that made it (math) boring and complicated,” Ms. Ripa decided to become a math teacher herself. Finally, when asked what she liked most about teaching, she replied that she likes, “How engaging it is. Every day is different.” So, in conclusion, I hope we all give a warm welcome to Ms. Ripa.
